About the Partnership
The WILDthings Partnership was set up in 2000 in a response to the UK Biodiversity Steering Group which recommended that national biodiveristy targets should be translated in to Local Biodiversity Action Plans. Initial workshops and discussions identified a core working group to take this forward and the Partnership was launched in November 2000.The first phase of the partnership identified 7 core themes and out of this arose our priority species list and flagship projects such as Wildspaces, Youthweb and Batscapes. The second phase of the partnership is focusing on the short list priority species and the associated action plans. Each species and habitat has a 'champion' who is co-ordinating the actions. The WILDthings core group meets several times a year.
